History of Dutch Shipbuilding dates back to 1600 when it dominated the European shipbuilding market during the Golden Century. The success of the industry was based on its low costs and technical superiority of its product.

Dutch shipbuilders used more effective building methods to produce ships of better design than their rivals.In 2006 Dutch ShipYard and Dutch Yacht Sales was established by Capt. Michel Wollenstein and succeeded in creating a specialized Refit & Repair Center with ultra-modern technology, sophisticated production lines and in house wood finish work.Capt.

Michel’s passion for vessel construction started in his youth, he built his first motor boat of 13 meters in 1986 when he was 17 years old. His creativity continued as he worked professionally in restoration of classic yachts in Amsterdam.
Over the years, he restored several yachts fueling his move to new construction.

Dutch ShipYard has built superb classic yachts and was involved in many refits of well-known yachts such as classic sailing yacht Erica III, S/Y Athos, M/Y Life Saga, M/Y Vibrant Curiosity, M/Y Seven Sins to name a few.
